Meet Our Faculty & Staff
Danette Neikirk, MPT is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine with a masters degree in physical therapy. She has experience in inpatient rehabilitation and acute care physical therapy, and is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. She currently serves as the PTA Program Director and ACCE.
Leslie Helman, DPT, is a graduate of Bellarmine University with a doctorate degree in physical therapy. She has experience in outpatient and school based pediatric physical therapy, as well as inpatient geriatric physical therapy. She has a special interest in neurology. She is currently a full time PTA faculty member.
Dennis Riney, MPT, CSCS is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University with a masters degree in physical therapy. He also has a degree in Dietetics from Missouri State University and is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dennis has a particular interest in utilizing manual therapy for the treatment of orthopedic and spine conditions. He is currently a PTA faculty member.
Heidi Hitt has been with the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center since May 2009, and she is the administrative assistant for all Post-Secondary Health Related Programs: Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Practical Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medication Technician, EMT, and Paramedic. She is eager to assist current and prospective students, and is an asset to our program.
