Careers in Health

This class is designed to give the student an awareness of health care professions through exposure to a variety of activities.  You will spend classroom time learning basic bedside patient care skills, basic Anatomy and Physiology, medical terminology, and pre-employment skills.  Time will be spent in a long term care facility giving direct bedside patient care under supervision of your instructors.  In the spring, you may qualify for Nursing Assistant Certification through the Missouri League of Nursing Home Administrators or a certificate of completion in one of the health care specialty areas.

Students with a genuine interest in the areas of activity director, dental aide, medical administrative secretary, physical therapy aide, radiology aide, or animal care aide may be eligible to participate in one of these emphasis areas the second semester.
