Child Care
Grade 12
1-year program, 3 credits per year, 3 periods per day
This class is designed for students that have a desire to work in careers involving young children and their families. Students will learn to provide a safe, healthy, loving environment that will allow children to explore their natural curiosity and imagination.
Early childhood development, health, safety, nutrition, schedules, lesson plans, activities and working with families will all be covered in this course. During this course, students will work in the local public schools: pre-k classrooms, Just Babies and Just Kids in Cape and MO accredited childcare facilities. Students will obtain direct child contact hours needed to take the CDA (Child Development Associate) assessment.
